Japanese Man Arrested for Allegedly Modifying Pokémon Game to Sell Customized Creatures

A 36-year-old man was arrested by Japanese police for tampering with save data in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games, violating corporate espionage laws. Yoshihiro Yamakawa was caught selling custom characters online, offering deals like "6 Pokémon for $30." This isn't the first case; in 2021, a similar incident led to an arrest. Yamakawa allegedly made millions of yen selling these characters between December 2022 and March 2023.
