Indian Govt Warns Microsoft Edge Users About Major Security Risk

The Indian government has issued a security warning for Microsoft Edge users due to critical vulnerabilities identified by CERT-In. These flaws in the Chromium-based browser could allow attackers to bypass device security and access stored data.

According to the CERT-In bulletin from October 7, 2024, the vulnerabilities stem from issues in Mojo, V8, and integer overflow in Layout. A remote attacker could exploit these by sending specially crafted requests, potentially allowing them to execute arbitrary code on the system. Edge users are advised to exercise caution with what they open on their devices.
