ETH Zurich University students have developed SpaceHopper, a three-legged robot for exploring asteroids and moons. The project, initiated two and a half years ago as a research project for bachelor’s degree students, now involves five master's students and one doctoral student. Testing in zero gravity was conducted during a parabolic flight by the European Space Agency. The robot aims to traverse the surface of celestial bodies with minimal gravity, offering insights into their composition and potential mineral resources for future human use.
